My name’s Keith Jackson and I studied as a cadet education officer at the Australian School of Pacific Administration – ASOPA – in 1962 and 1963.

Some 20 years later, when it had transformed into the International training Institute, I was back there as deputy principal.

While the School has not existed for some 30 years now, it’s spirit lives on in the many professionals who were there.

They went on to work in Australia’s territories – mainly the Territory of Papua New Guinea and the Northern Territory – and are now scattered across Australia and around the world.

This website has been created to provide a reminder of the ASOPA heritage, to provide a place where its stories can be told, as a forum for anecdote and reminiscence about that other time when we were younger and, quite possibly, more adventurous.

Send me your stories, views and news by clicking on the link to benelong above. I’d love to hear from you.
